Anna Maria D’Ortenzio and Ayda Akbal collaborated and created The Brink Of Womanhood: An Original Musical . Using influences from Jane Austen, Louisa May Alcott, Anna Maria created an original story that simultaneously feels familiar. The musical focuses on highlighting the evolution of feminism and the power of women uplifting women.

2021

The first staging of the musical was done in 2021 in Tinley Park, Illinois with Stella Stage Productions in an outdoor space.

2022

The second staging of the musical was done in 2022 at The Athenaeum Center for Thought and Culture in Chicago, IL with Blue Demon Theatre.
